Okay, so my brother and I were watching the remake of "True Grit" when we began a discussion on who the greatest action hero of all time is. I made a remark on how I believe that John Wayne is overrated. He is not an action star. According to Wikipedia, an Action film is a film genre where one or more heroes is thrust into a series of challenges that require physical feats, extended fights and frenetic chases. The three things are:
1. physical feats
2. extended fights
3. frenetic chases
JOHN WAYNE DOES NOT DO ANY OF THOSE!!!!!!!! Bruce Lee does all three of those credentials. And not only that but he put realism in all of his movies. He was not about wires or special effects or anything like that. His movies were raw and gritty and he revolutionized martial arts, philosophy, action movies and the world. John Wayne or any other action star other than Bruce Lee has not revolutionized anything.
